100% Egyptian Cotton Damask. Cotton plants are not all created equal and the conditions in which they grow dramatically affect the crop and the quality of the finished product. The conditions in the Nile delta produce much longer ‘staple’ cotton fibres than other areas allowing it to be spun into much softer and stronger yarns for weaving. For this reason Egyptian Cotton has been famed for these properties for thousands of years. Indeed the cotton used to wrap the mummies has lasted many thousands of years!

The great news is that this quality doesn’t have to be expensive. As we supply this fabric to so many restauranteurs and caterers in the UK we import vast quantities directly from the mills and are able to pass on these cost savings in our unbeatable prices on these products.

Our other recommended fabric is a specially constructed PolyCotton. It’s 66% polyester and 34% cotton mix is based on a construction in which the polyester provides the ‘backbone’ to the fabric and the cotton makes up most of the surface. By blending the fibres this way you get the easy care low shrinkage characteristics of polyester with the natural soft feel of cotton.
